Laminated or insulated glass overhead
Overhead glass is a safety choice and a thermal choice. The product page keeps both as a draft.

Steel skylights and canopies
Steel skylights and steel canopies, including glass canopies that sit inside a window contract.
What to specify
For a skylight, say laminated, insulated, or both, and the interlayer if laminated. For a canopy over people, laminated glass is the usual safety discussion. Do not copy the apartment window build-up upward.
Support spacing follows the glass
Thicker laminated glass spans farther. A change from laminated to insulated changes the rafter spacing. Fix the glass before the steel is detailed, or expect the steel to be redrawn.
Heat-treated glass overhead
If any ply is fully tempered, ask whether a heat-soak test is required before it is placed over people. Laminated glass with an annealed ply fails differently from two tempered plies. Write the ply order, not only the word laminated.
